Objectives

• Implement new guidelines in office-based preventive medicine, including updated strategies for cancer prevention, screening, immunizations, and coronary heart disease and stroke prevention
• Enhance skills in managing common and complex office problems such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, COPD, TIAs, diabetes, common cancers, and infections
• Apply best evidence to treat patients with COVID-19 and post-COVID conditions, including long COVID
• Treat common dermatologic disorders including skin cancer, eczema, acne, hair loss, chronic urticaria, drug eruptions, infections, and aging skin conditions
• Diagnose and manage both common and less common pulmonary disorders
• Strengthen neurological clinical examination and management of headaches, back pain, dementia, delirium, and stroke
• Provide care for common mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and somatoform disorders
• Recognize and manage oncologic emergencies
• Understand and apply new treatments in obesity management
• Select appropriate diagnostic tests to enhance value-based medical practice
• Optimize patient communication and shared decision-making based on best evidence
• Address health disparities through equitable, patient-centered primary care
