  • Perform work-up and treatment planning for patients with sleep-disordered breathing and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
  • Recognize and manage complications in endoscopic sinus and otologic surgeries.
  • Understand diagnostic and management approaches for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, including the role of PET scans and HPV status.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify aerosol-generating procedures in otolaryngology practice.
  • Implement measures to reduce COVID-19 transmission risk among patients and staff.
  • Describe inflammatory mediators and cellular mechanisms related to CRS endotypes.
  • Interpret paranasal sinus imaging and recognize operative anatomic variants and landmarks.
  • Explain the role and application of intra-operative navigation during sinus surgery.
  • Select appropriate surgical tools such as balloon sinus dilation and tissue spacers to improve outcomes.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans based on CRS phenotypes and endotypes.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluation and surgical planning for patients with sleep-disordered breathing, including use of drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE).
  • Evaluate and manage head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with unknown primary, including imaging strategies.
  • Discuss impact of HPV on prognosis and treatment algorithms for head and neck cancers.
